With over 50 years of dedicated civic service, David brings a unique blend of financial and legal expertise to the Treasurer’s office. A retired Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and attorney, David holds a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and an LLM (Master of Law). His professional background includes extensive experience in healthcare finance, having served as a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This career-long focus on complex financial management, combined with his legal acumen, ensures that he possesses the exact technical qualifications necessary to manage the county’s investment portfolio, oversee tax collections, and provide the rigorous financial reporting that Mesa County citizens deserve.

Dave’s commitment to our community is not theoretical—it is evidenced by his long-standing track record of service in the Grand Valley. As a former Palisade Town Council member and Mayor Pro Tem, he has navigated the complexities of local government firsthand. His leadership roles as President of the Palisade Irrigation Pipes & Laterals and the 5-2-1 Stormwater Authority demonstrate his ability to manage critical infrastructure and collaborate across regional lines.

His work at the Catholic Outreach soup kitchen reflects his deep-rooted commitment to addressing the urgent struggles faced by our neighbors, including homelessness, food insecurity, and the challenges of a declining middle class. Having lived in Palisade since 2008, he is deeply invested in the health and prosperity of our valley. He understands that the Treasurer’s office—while a financial institution—must ultimately serve the families, schools, and essential public services that keep Mesa County strong.
